An inclusive arts festival boldly reinventing classic hide-and-seek. Its mission: Bring children alien to each other, together. Set in Rainbow Centre, a school that serves children with disabilities, this festival open to all is a labour of love born from a five-month arts residency programme involving six artists, 20 arts facilitators and the community to explore themes of identity and place in the world. HOW TO JOIN US? :)

NOTES ON TICKET PURCHASES:
1) PEEKABOO CHILDREN WORKSHOPS: Purchase ticket only for children attending. Accompanying parents/caregivers need not purchase a ticket.
2) PARENTS FOR PARENTS: Purchase 1 ticket per adult. Adults only
3) FREESATURDAY TOURS: 1 ticket per adult and 1 ticket per child.

Workshop 05: Paint, Forest, Paint by UYII
Time: 1030am – 1230pm
No of participants: 20
Recommended age: 6 - 12 years old
Fee: $18
Whoever said we could only paint with a brush? Use combs, rollers, toothbrushes and other weird and wonderful tools to create your own camouflage cape and take a portrait in a lush forest landscape.

Performance: What Dreams May Come
Time: 1045am - 1115am OR 115pm - 145pm OR 230pm – 315pm
No of participants: 10 per session
Recommended age: Any Age
Fee: $15
Note: This is an interactive performance where participants will move around in Rainbow Centre with the performers.

To be a baker. A bus driver. Attain independence and friends. What is the good life for a young person (who happens to have special needs)? This performance art piece is built on the aspirations of a class of young adults from Rainbow Centre, Margaret Drive School who will graduate this year. Everyone deserves a go in life.

Workshop 09: Tame the Monkey in my Mind By Om Shiva Yoga
Time: 1030am - 1130am
No of participants: 8
Recommended age: 6-12 years old
Fee: $25 per session

A four-session series of movement workshops by Juliana of Om Shiva Yoga where children will learn how to be mindful, have better concentration, self-regulation, motor skills and manage anxieties through a combination of storytelling, games, music and movement. Workshops take place on 23 Mar, 30 Mar, 6 Apr and 13 Apr. Participants are encouraged to sign up for all sessions. Fees for 6 and 13 Apr will be paid directly to the instructor.

Workshop 06: Drama It Up! by Ian Loy of MySuperFuture Theatre

Time: 2pm – 3pm
No of participants: 20
Recommended age: 6 - 12 years old
Fee: $10

Pablo Picasso did say that “Every Child is an Artist” , he didn’t say that in an exclusive manner. He said “EVERY!” If that is true then we got to give that trust that every child, every little being has that potential to be creative in their own unique ways. Come join Ian in his creative offerings and scaffolding to aid a young person pursuit to create performative art, through movement, games and other fun stimulus.

Workshop 04: Race to the Skies by Fong Yee in partnership with Saturday Kids
Time: 130pm – 3pm
No of participants: 20
Recommended age: 6 - 12 years old
Fee: $18

Where can curiosity take you? Run by artist Fongyee in partnership with Saturday Kids, this art and technology workshop welcomes you to create creatures with straws and make it come alive with Quirkbot programming.

PEEKABOO! 3-DAY INCLUSIVE ARTS CAMPS [SOLD OUT]


Following Superhero Me’s successful pilot of an inclusive arts camp at the Enabling Village and Goodman Arts Centre in 2018, we are excited to present two runs of PEEKABOO 3-DAY INCLUSIVE ARTS CAMPS bringing together 30 children with and without special needs to experience inclusion through the arts. The camp focusses on inspiring children to understand differences through art, experience empathy through music and movement and build resilience through creativity. Some highlights include team-bonding art creation, playback theatre experiences where children practise empathy in different situations and learning practical ways to cope with stress.

DATES: CAMP 01: 18 – 20 March (Mon - Wed) OR CAMP 02: 21 – 23 March (Thu - Fri)
TIME: 10am – 130pm on all days
FEE: $120 per child (snacks are provided)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Day 01: Differences as Strengths. Finding our superpowers from within
Day 02: Empathy. Learning how to harness our superpowers and to take care of others.
Day 03: Resilience. Superheroes need to take care of ourselves too.

Soar! Tumble, roll, move! Come join Rolypoly Family in this dance workshop where participants experience movement, fun and appreciation of diverse people and diverse bodies.

Workshop 02: Hack Your Wheels by Superhero Me
Time: 1030am – 12pm

Let the fun times roll! Bicycles, Wheelchairs, Skate scooters or rollerblades. You and your favourite set of wheels are invited for a makeover. Superhero Me is hosting a craft party where we will learn how to make charms and embellishments for wheels of all shapes and sizes!

Workshop 03: Draw the Universe by Hong Shin
Time: 130pm – 3pm
No of participants: 20
Recommended age: 5 - 12 years old
Fee: $18

How are you feeling today? Happy, sad, angry, calm, scared or brave? Join illustrator and author Hong Shin on a journey where we understand and express our emotions through stories and art making.
